Overview
Specialist Occupational Therapist (Integrated Care Therapy) role at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This is a temporary opportunity within Sheffield community based Integrated Care Team-Therapy, based in the North of the city at Firth Park. The service operates 8.30 am - 6 pm, 7 days a week (including Bank Holidays).The post is a secondment or fixed term 22.5 hours per week for 9 months until the end of June, with negotiable days of work.Responsibilities
Provide community-based therapy for patients with neurological, orthopaedic, frailty, musculoskeletal and anxiety issues.Carry out generic and Occupational Therapy assessments and plan/deliver treatment programmes for patients in their own homes, including residential care settings.Work closely with therapy assistants, contributing to their training and development and guiding them to provide care and rehabilitation to a designated caseload.Involve transporting, providing, ordering and fitting of equipment and making onward referrals to other health and social care services.Support student placements and enable Occupational Therapy students to understand the value of community integrated care.Contribute to audits and research to improve the service offered to the people of Sheffield.Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Specialist/Senior Therapy Assistants, Administrative staff and mental health nurses.Requirements / Qualifications
Experience in treating older adults to support them to remain independent in their own homes; patient-centred care and collaboration across sectors at neighbourhood level.Ability to deliver therapy within a well-established, multidisciplinary team.Ability to work within a fixed-term project framework and potentially adapt to changing service needs.Contract and Working Arrangements
Fixed term 9 months until June 2026; secondment must first be agreed with your current line manager.Band 7 duty lead and a band 7 clinical specialist Occupational Therapist provide day-to-day support and supervision.Location
