Occupational Therapist

OverviewThis post offers an exciting opportunity for a band 5 occupational therapist to develop and consolidate their clinical skills in a specialist older people\u2019s mental health inpatient setting. We are looking for a dynamic, professional and enthusiastic occupational therapist to join our friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team.
Our team is a joint occupational therapy and physiotherapy service working with adults aged over 65 who have complex mental health conditions. We are an organic and functional older people\u2019s inpatient service based at The Woodlands, Rotherham. We work across inpatient wards, patient homes and care homes.
Responsibilities
To work as a member of an inpatient multidisciplinary team assessing occupational needs and providing occupational therapy interventions on an individual and group basis to service users with acute, complex mental health needs.
To assist in the supervision of support staff and students and deliver interventions enabling service users to develop independent living skills and work towards individual recovery and goals as part of safe, effective discharge.
To develop links with statutory and voluntary sector community resources and ensure that ongoing occupational needs are addressed as part of a safe, effective discharge process.
