Overview

Working within the Acute Children\''s Therapies and Play service across Barts Health, the post holder will work as an autonomous Neonatal Speech and Language Therapist with advanced neonatal infant feeding/communication, developmental care and neonatal dysphagia skills. They will work with the MDT to provide Universal, Targeted and Specialist care to infants on the neonatal unit at Whipps Cross. The post holder will be embedded on the neonatal unit, collaborating with the family and neonatal MDT team to ensure best care. They will contribute to Baby Friendly Initiative and Family Integrated Care as part of the core Neonatal MDT. They will receive peer support within the neonatal team and clinical supervision from the Clinical Neonatal Lead for SLT, with additional peer support from the other Neonatal SLT at Barts. They will have independent oversight of the neonatal caseload with support and second opinions from the neonatal Clinical Lead and other specialist MDT members (e.g., OT, PT, Resp, ENT).Responsibilities

Provide autonomous neonatal Speech and Language Therapy with advanced skills in infant feeding, communication, developmental care and dysphagia.Collaborate with the MDT to deliver Universal, Targeted and Specialist care to infants on the neonatal unit at Whipps Cross.Work on the neonatal unit embedded on site, collaborating with families and the neonatal MDT (medical, nursing, Dietitian, OT, Physiotherapy, infant feeding leads).Contribute to Baby Friendly Initiative and Family Integrated Care as part of core neonatal MDT activity.Receive peer support within the neonatal team and clinical supervision from the Clinical Neonatal Lead for SLT; receive peer support from the other Neonatal SLT at Barts.Maintain independent oversight of the neonatal caseload with access to second opinions from the neonatal Clinical Lead and other specialist MDT members (OT, PT, Resp, ENT).Development, Mentoring and Support
