Our client, a leading UK insurer, is looking for a Senior Property Underwriter to join their growing team in Manchester. This is a key role that will allow you to take ownership of an existing property book while also driving growth across commercial and residential property portfolios.This role is ideal for an experienced underwriter who is comfortable working independently and able to manage responsibilities with minimal supervision, allowing you to hit the ground running.RESPONSIBILITIESTake full responsibility for underwriting mid-market commercial and residential property risksManage and grow an existing portfolio while seeking opportunities to expandWork closely with regional brokers, building and maintaining strong relationships, particularly face-to-faceCollaborate with the UK commercial and casualty teams to deliver comprehensive insurance solutionsContribute to the development of new business opportunities and help shape the property underwriting strategyTravel to London and Glasgow offices as required to liaise with key brokers and clientsDAY-TO-DAYReview and assess property risk submissions, ensuring appropriate terms and conditions are appliedWork closely with brokers and clients to ensure timely responses and underwriting decisionsEnsure the accurate pricing and evaluation of risk for both commercial and residential property sectorsRegular face-to-face meetings with regional brokers to foster relationships and promote business growthSupport the team in driving the overall success of the property portfolioSKILLSStrong underwriting knowledge in property, particularly for commercial and residential risksExcellent relationship-building skills, with the ability to manage brokers effectivelySelf-motivated and capable of working independently to manage and grow a book of businessStrong analytical and decision-making abilitiesExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage face-to-face with brokers and clientsIf you have the relevant experience or know someone that does please contact me now on
