About the roleThis is a hands-on, in-office role based in our Melbourn office. Due to the systems being supported, there will be occasional weekend working and on-call duties, so flexibility is required.
About the Infrastructure TeamThe Infrastructure Team are a point of escalation for our UK users, based in the Cambridge office. The team combine excellent problem-solving skills with high quality customer service to resolve user issues as quickly and efficiently as possible. Using established processes as well as independent investigation to identify, resolve and document fixes in case of reoccurrence.
Responsibilities
Be responsible for segregated, technically rich environments, enabling you to develop skills in technical management, automation and operations, whilst ensuring that all environments are available, reliable and secure.
Provide end-to-end support for users as part of the Technology and Operations pillar, including the Global Service Desk, 2nd line, Application Support, Operations, Infrastructure and Digital Workspace teams.
Apply established processes and documentation to identify, resolve and prevent recurrence of issues.
Occasional weekend working and on-call duties; flexibility is required.
Qualifications
You''ll have strong knowledge designing, building, maintaining and supporting Azure cloud environments including implementing Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) (Essential)
Excellent knowledge of M365 and O365, Exchange, virtual hosting including Omnissa ( VMware Horizon) and Hyper-V, SaaS Backup Platforms and Group Policy
Excellent knowledge of network and infrastructure cloud systems including firewall management
Good troubleshooting skills and ability to work under pressure to identify and fix IT security vulnerabilities as well as implementing new IT technologies and services
Strong effective communication skills at all organisational levels and the ability to write clear documentation
Comfortable working independently or in a team, using own initiative
Organisational skills to plan and maintain the infrastructure ensuring it remains current and available
