Full-Time Teaching Assistant – Bournemouth

Are you experienced in supporting children with Autism and passionate about making a meaningful impact in their educational journey?

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant (TA) to provide 1:1 support for a Year 5 pupil on the Autistic Spectrum at a welcoming mainstream primary school in Bournemouth. This is a fantastic opportunity to build strong, supportive relationships and help a child thrive in a nurturing learning environment.

About the Role

Join a rewarding full-time position where you’ll play a vital role in supporting a pupil’s academic and emotional development. Your responsibilities as Teaching Assistant (TA) will include:

• Delivering tailored 1:1 support to meet the pupil’s individual needs.
• Assisting the class teacher in creating an inclusive and structured learning environment.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement through a calm and patient approach.
• Collaborating with school staff and SEN teams to ensure consistent support.
• Promoting independence and confidence in the pupil’s daily school life.

What We’re Looking in Teaching Assistant (TA)

• Previous experience supporting children with Autism is essential.
• A nurturing, empathetic, and proactive attitude.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust and rapport.
• Reliability, resilience, and a commitment to making a difference.
• A solid understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
