Key Responsibilities of SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):

  • Provide 1:1 tailored support to a pupil with Autism, helping them engage with the curriculum and flourish in the classroom.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering inclusive and engaging lessons.
  • Create a nurturing and structured learning environment.
  • Collaborate with school staff and SEN professionals to meet the pupil’s individual needs.
  • Participate in school activities, training, and meetings as required.

Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):

  • Experience working with children in any capacity.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students with additional needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine passion for education and helping children succeed.
  • An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.

What We Offer:

  • A supportive and inclusive school environment.
  • Valuable experience working 1:1 with a pupil with Autism.
  • A fantastic opportunity for those looking to build a career in education or SEN support.
  • Potential for a permanent role for the right candidate.

Interviews will be held during the first week back to school in September 2025.

Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks; including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.

As an ethical, inclusive, and independent recruitment agency, GSL Education are committed to providing quality teaching and support for staff in schools across the UK.
