Do you have experience supporting children with Autism, non-verbal communication needs, or Social, Emotional and Mental Health challenges? A warm and inclusive primary school in Aston is seeking a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team within a specialist provision.
This is a rewarding and hands-on role, working closely with pupils who need tailored support to access learning and build confidence. The provision supports children across EYFS to KS2 with a range of complex needs, and the school is looking for someone that is consistent and proactive to work on a long-term basis, for the right candidate there is potential for this role to be made permanent.
Your Role:
- Provide consistent 1:1 or small group support to pupils with ASD, non-verbal needs and SEMH
- Use visual aids, PECS or Makaton (if trained) to aid communication
- Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
- Work closely with class teachers and SENCO to deliver personalised interventions
- Help create a safe, structured and supportive learning environment

- Confidence in managing behaviour and emotional needs positively
