Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry - Outpatients | Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust

OverviewJob description is pending Royal College approval.
Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a substantive full-time consultant to this newly established post with Oldham Mental Health Services. This post will cover the Central sector within the Oldham area and has been created due to the current consultant moving to another role within the trust.
The Oldham general adult psychiatry service (generally for people aged 16 to 64) operates with a model where consultants are deployed across community/outpatient, Early Intervention Service, inpatient areas including Home Treatment and AandE Liaison, and Living Well. The appointed consultant will work with other sector consultants (East, West and South sector community outpatients).
Oldham borough has a new state-of-the-art TMS suite and is the only NHS provider for this service in the North West. The Trust has a strong teaching commitment and candidates will be expected to contribute to teaching medical and nursing staff. There are links to research projects such as Bright Mind, FreshSTART, and Gamechange. The Consultants contribute to local service user and carer groups. The Central sector covers South and East Oldham (Chadderton; Royton and Shaw; Delph, Uppermill, Lees, Ashton Under Lyne). Patients are seen in hospital and community clinics, at home, or in other clinical settings as clinically indicated. Outpatient clinics are held at the Cherrywood Clinic on the Royal Oldham Hospital site and at the Werneth Primary Care Centre (1.5 miles from the hospital).
The consultant in this post will work with the East, South and West Sector CMHTs and with the Care Management and Review Team, a sub-team supporting people with more stable but long-term mental illnesses.
