An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a fixed term locum burns and plastic surgeon within the highly renowned Manchester Burns and Plastic Surgery Service based at Wythenshawe Hospital (adult burns) and Royal Manchester Children''s Hospital (paediatric burns).
This role would suit a CCT-holder with interests in adult and paediatric burn care with additional interests in areas such as paediatric plastic surgery or skin cancer; these would be welcomed. Recent experience in adult and paediatric burns and collaborative multidisciplinary team working are all essential criteria.
Main duties of the jobThe successful applicant will join our team of twenty seven plastic surgery consultants and will be responsible for supporting the delivery of centre-level burn care in our adult and paediatric services. This includes participating in the 1:8 on call commitment on the burns consultant rota (which currently includes plastic surgery at the Royal Manchester Children\''s Hospital).

Person SpecificationQualifications and Training
Full GMC Registration
Experience in adult and paediatric burn care
Entry on the specialist register for plastic surgery (or entry expected within the year or demonstration of progression towards CESR)
Clinical Experience
Comprehensive clinical experience in plastic surgery
Knowledge and Skills
Ability to work as an effective member of the wider burns and plastic surgery team
Experience with adult and paediatric Centre level burn injury
Operative experience in line with requirements of Indicative Logbook for Plastic Surgery
EMS
Evidence of developing and maintaining a multidisciplinary team
Evidence of clinical audit relevant to improving care of the trauma / burns patient
