Senior Financial Reporting Accountant role at Investec. This role sits in the financial reporting team, which has principal responsibility for all external reporting and technical accounting. The team aims to expand capacity and skills to meet increasingly complex demands from accounting standard setters, regulators and other stakeholders.To be a senior member of the team responsible for meeting the statutory financial reporting requirements of the group – specifically covering the consolidated reporting for Investec plc and Investec Bank plc.Responsibilities

Preparing and/or reviewing the group annual statutory accounts and coordinating with external auditorsPreparing and/or reviewing key disclosure notes, including those related to financial instrumentsLiaison with Investor Relations, Risk and other finance teamsActing as key contact and driver of the external audit processProviding periodic reporting to satisfy internal and external customers, including regulatorsAssisting in preparing balance sheet analysis to support quarterly regulatory returns, including investigation and documentation of variancesDeveloping and delivering technical training sessions to improve data quality and classification used for financial statement disclosureParticipating in projects to implement new accounting standards and financial reporting requirements and promoting automation in financial statement productionEnsuring the integrity of the group''s general ledger monthly by reviewing and challenging ledger entriesResponding to ad hoc requestsPlaying a key role in transformation projects including ledger upgrades, substantiation automation and data initiativesQualifications

Qualified accountant with in-depth knowledge and experience in the areas belowRequired Skills

Technical understanding of IFRSExperience with consolidationsExperience providing training and knowledge sharingFamiliarity with JDE and Essbase would be beneficialSystematic approach to analysing and solving problems with strong attention to detailRegulatory knowledge as applicable to the roleSelf-motivated, enthusiastic and able to work without close supervisionAbility to manage projects with multiple stakeholdersTeam player with experience leading teams/projectsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsGood Excel working knowledgeExperience preparing/reviewing FINREP regulatory reportingSeniority level
