Location: Liverpool
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Pay: £13.00 - £14.00
Sleep - in  £55 -£60

We are looking for compassionate, reliable, and emotionally resilient individuals to join a therapeutic residential team supporting children and young people who have experienced significant challenges in their lives. This is a meaningful opportunity to help children feel safe, heard, and supported as they grow into confident and independent individuals.
You will work within a home that offers structure, trust, and belonging, where the young people are at the heart of everything we do. Your role will involve hands-on care, emotional support, and a consistent, calm presence that helps children feel valued and secure.
Your Role: Supporting Stability and Growth
As part of a dedicated and trauma-informed team, you'll work with individual care plans to ensure the holistic needs of each child are met—emotionally, socially, physically, and educationally. You'll play a vital part in creating an environment where young people are able to heal, grow, and build positive futures.
Your Core Responsibilities Daily Care & Home Life

  • Support children with everyday routines including meals, personal care, and bedtime.
  • Maintain a warm, well-kept home that feels safe and welcoming.
  • Deliver care that is consistent, respectful, and adapted to each child's needs.
  • Follow individual care plans and contribute to ongoing assessments and reports.

Listening, Advocacy & Emotional Support

  • Build trusting, non-judgmental relationships with children and young people.
  • Provide a safe space for them to express feelings and explore identity.
  • Advocate for their needs and wishes in meetings and care planning processes.
  • Be a dependable role model, always offering calm, compassionate guidance.

Education, Hobbies & Enrichment

  • Promote the importance of learning, and support school attendance and engagement.
  • Encourage creative and leisure activities that build confidence and life skills.
  • Help children access community activities that reflect their interests and identity.
  • Facilitate routines around homework, organisation, and educational preparation.

Health & Wellbeing

  • Support healthy lifestyle choices including balanced diets, exercise, and sleep.
  • Attend health appointments with young people and record key outcomes.
  • Monitor emotional wellbeing and help children build coping strategies.
  • Promote positive self-image and personal development.

Safety & Safeguarding

  • Recognise and respond to safeguarding concerns appropriately and in line with policy.
  • Conduct and record regular health & safety and risk management checks.
  • Ensure children feel emotionally and physically safe at all times.
  • Maintain boundaries and use proactive behaviour support strategies.

Teamwork & Professional Practice

  • Work collaboratively with your team to provide consistent and supportive care.
  • Communicate clearly with colleagues, external professionals, and families (where appropriate).
  • Engage in supervision, reflective practice, and training to build your skills and understanding.
  • Contribute to a respectful, accountable workplace that prioritises child welfare.

What We're Looking For
You don't need prior experience in residential care—but you do need:

  • A genuine desire to support vulnerable children to recover, grow, and succeed.
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure, with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
  • A full, clean UK driving licence.
  • Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.

What You'll Gain

A rewarding role that makes a lasting difference in a child's life.

A supportive team where your contributions are valued and respected.

Structured training and development to help you grow professionally.

Opportunities for career progression into senior care roles.

A caring environment that values empathy, stability, and relational practice.
