Overview
The Wellbeing and Mental Health Service at the University of Chester are seeking a skilled and compassionate Mental Health Adviser to join our multi-disciplinary Student Services Department. This is an opportunity to use your professional expertise in a supportive higher education environment, helping students to thrive academically and personally. Mental Health Advisers play a key role in managing the increasing incidence of complex mental health cases across the University. You will work with a diverse caseload, providing one-to-one support, risk assessments, crisis intervention, group sessions and awareness campaigns. Mental Health Advisers work closely with colleagues in Student Wellbeing, Counselling and Disability and Inclusion, as well as collaborating with other internal teams and external services. Provide one-to-one mental health support to students and contribute to crisis intervention when needed.Conduct risk assessments and participate in safety planning for students in need.Deliver group sessions and contribute to awareness campaigns within the university community.Collaborate with colleagues in Student Wellbeing, Counselling and Disability and Inclusion, and liaise with other internal teams and external services as required.What we offer
