The Site Manager will oversee Passive Fire Protection (fire door installation, fire stopping, fire damper work, etc), refurbishments, new installations and minor works projects ranging from values of £25k-1m.

Location: UKRI, Rutherford Appleton Laboratory , Harwell, OxfordHours Per Week:

Monday - Friday , 40 HoursJob Type: Fixed Term Contract (3-6 months)The Site Manager shall:

Attend Client / progress / briefing meetingsUpdate contractor project reports/programmes/Site diaries in advance of meetsAttend progress meetings and developing progress report for senior management and or meetingsDrive daily progress on project/sWork with the design team to develop designsDeliver and schedule works with direct labour and sub-contractorsAttend Pre Start meetingsManage and ensure HandS on site including inductions of GRAHAM staff and SubcontractorsRecord Site events and conditionsEnsure all Company Procedures are being complied withLiaise with the client and end users to make sure they are kept up to date with progress and requirementsEnsure all works are completed to high qualityManage Works on site including staff and Subcontractor managementManage works to deliver to programmeSelf-snag works prior to completion of worksCollate material orders and issue to project manager and project support for orderingReport to senior managementAssist in the completion OandM manuals on completion of projectsThis job description is intended to give the post holder an appreciation of the role envisaged for the job title and the range of duties to be undertaken. It does not attempt to detail every activity. Specific tasks and objectives will be agreed with the post holder at regular intervals.

About YouEssential Criteria1.Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS)2.Demonstrate relevant previous experience in a similar role working within a trade or construction background3.CSR/SAFEPASS/CSCS/ECS Card4.Demonstrate knowledge in construction design management (CDM)5.Strong technical knowledge in Passive Fire Protection and existing Legislation6.Ability to work to the deadline in a mixed live environment following a specific set of local rules7.Ability to manage and deliver numerous concurrent projects of varying financial values and scope8.Health and Safety Induction Including Management System9.Demonstrate previous relevant management experience10.Competent in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite and ideally Project11.Full UK drivers licence12.First Aid at Work13.Proven Leadership and people management ski lls

Desirable Criteria1.

NVQ Site Carpentry

PASMA training

3.

IPAF 3a +3b training

4.

Basic knowledge and understanding of the electrical and fire alarm systems

5.

Knowledge of UK building regulations

6.

Ability to manage time and workload
