Casualty Litigation Paralegal

Specialist Costs and Insurance - Legal Recruitment ConsultantA nationally recognised law firm is offering an excellent opportunity for a Casualty Litigation Paralegal to join its expanding Casualty team. In this role, you’ll manage a caseload of delegated authority fixed-fee Employers’ Liability and Public Liability claims on behalf of leading insurer clients. You will work closely with experienced colleagues who will support you with strategy setting, liability decisions, and ongoing technical development.
The role involves handling a varied caseload including Pre-Action Disclosure files, Infant Approval Hearings, and other EL/PL matters. You''ll also support senior file handlers with a range of delegated litigation tasks. This is a great opportunity for an individual who takes a forensic and analytical approach to liability and quantum, with a solid appreciation of evidential requirements and legal processes.
Responsibilities
Manage your own files, drafting legal documents, instructing Counsel and Experts, negotiating settlements, attending court hearings or conferences, and liaising with claimants, solicitors, and witnesses.
Support senior file handlers with delegated litigation tasks and strategy development.
Handle a varied caseload including Pre-Action Disclosure files, Infant Approval Hearings, and other EL/PL matters.
Qualifications
Previous experience handling EL/PL or personal injury claims under delegated authority
Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all levels
Able to confidently liaise with external stakeholders, including solicitors and witnesses
Highly organised with the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines
Strong drafting ability, particularly with documents such as Tomlin/Consent Orders
Experience with disclosure, CRU, reviewing medical records, and evidence collation
Confident in instructing Counsel, preparing for hearings, and attending conferences
Good IT and case management system literacy
