Ideally, you will have experience in this area and be eager to take on more responsibility in order to progress your career. You must be able to work closely with supervisors and partners, as well as colleagues within the firm, on a range of cases. Job type: Full-time, permanent. Eight-hour office-based shifts, Monday to Friday.Salary: Up to £30,000 (DOE) per annum.Skills
The successful candidate will have:A law degree (LLB, MSc) and a working knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules and the Commercial Court GuideProven, demonstrable experience in commercial and/or High Court litigationThe ability to establish priorities and work under pressure to meet critical deadlines when handling large, contentious caseloadsExcellent organisational skills and a flexible approach to the working environmentStrong writing and communication abilitiesThe motivation to work alone and collaborate as part of a teamStrong interpersonal and client care skills, with a friendly, outgoing mannerProficiency in Microsoft Office programs and applications such as Word and ExcelAbility to maintain stringent attention to detail when working with large volumes of dataAccountabilities.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:Conducting pre-claim investigations, legal research and initial case assessmentsDrafting and editing client correspondenceDealing with queries from clients, defendants’ legal representative(s) and other third parties in person, electronically or via telephoneDrafting pleadings and other court documents, including trial submissions and instruction to counselProofreading legal documentsPerforming administrative duties on assigned claims (organising calendars, court hearings and case files as well as managing logistics and maintaining records on CRM)Engaging in alternative dispute resolutions, mediations and settlement negotiations between businesses and insurersAttending trials and other hearings with counselSupporting solicitors and other team leaders by carrying out a range of legal tasksUndertaking administrative tasks to ensure effective collaboration across the businessWhat you will receive:Basic salary of up to £30,000 (DOE) upon completion of six-month probation periodA role in a sought-after city centre location with a fantastic laid-back but professional working environmentOngoing training and supportContinued opportunities for career progression and personal developmentDress-down FridaysCompany events including weekly business updates
