Highly Specialist Clinical Physiologist

Overview
We are busy and dynamic department providing Cardiology services to Liverpool and the surrounding regions.Responsibilities
Provide Echocardiography to inpatients and outpatients.Perform Echocardiography independent to BSE dataset guidelines and report/analyse Echo results in line with BSE guidance.Line manage staff within the team with the assistance of the department manager.Perform advanced techniques such as TOE, Exercise/Dobutamine Echo, Bubble studies, Contrast studies and more.For pacing qualified individuals: provide routine pacemaker follow up; provide inpatient pacing follow up for complex devices including emergency situations involving a device; provide expert support during pacemaker implant; be trained in the physiologist-led LINQ implant service.Location and Working Pattern
You will be predominantly based on the Royal Hospital site but will provide services to Broadgreen and Aintree Hospitals. Given the nature of the department a flexible working pattern.Qualifications and Requirements
Must be BSE accredited or BHRS accredited and have completed either a BSc in Healthcare Science or PGCert in Echocardiography. Applicants must have AHCS/HCPC registration or be working towards registration (ETP candidate).Undergraduate honours degree (1st or 2.1) in cardiac physiology or a relevant scientific subject.PG Cert in Echocardiography or Clinical Physiology Degree.BSE accreditation. Will obtain RCCP accreditation as soon as possible. Desirable: RCCP accreditation.ILS; able to work autonomously performing and reporting echocardiograms.Understanding of the role of an Echocardiographer in healthcare and disease and its application in a healthcare setting.Experience in advanced echo techniques (e.g., TOE, Stress) and ability to work autonomously planning and executing work under supervision.Good clinical judgement, ethics and professional practice; patient-centred care; good IT skills; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; effective team worker; good active listening skills.UK professional registration is required.Notes
