Highly Specialist Clinical Physiologist

OverviewExciting opportunity for a qualified Echocardiographer or Highly Specialist Clinical Physiologist specialised in Echocardiography or Cardiac Rhythm Management. The post is predominantly based at the Royal Hospital, with services to Broadgreen and Aintree Hospitals. Flexible working pattern.
RequirementsApplicants must be BSE accredited or BHRS accredited and have completed either a BSc in Healthcare Science or PGCert in Echocardiography. Applicants must have AHCS/HCPC registration or be working towards registration (if an ETP candidate).
Main dutiesWe are a busy and dynamic department providing Cardiology services to Liverpool and the surrounding regions.
Provide Echocardiography to inpatients and outpatients
Perform Echocardiography independent to BSE dataset guidelines
Report and analyse Echo results in line with BSE guidance
Line manage staff within the team with the assistance of the department manager
Perform advanced techniques such as TOE, Exercise/Dobutamine Echo, Bubble studies, Contrast studies and more
For Pacing qualified individuals
Provide routine pacemaker follow up
Provide inpatient pacing follow up for complex devices including emergencies involving a device
Provide expert support during pacemaker implant
Train in the physiologist-led LINQ implant service

Person specificationQualifications (Essential): Undergraduate honours degree (1st or 2:1) in cardiac physiology or a relevant scientific subject; PG Cert in Echocardiography or Clinical Physiology Degree; BSE accreditation; will obtain RCCP accreditation as soon as possible.
Desirable: RCCP accreditation; ILS
ExperienceEssential: Able to work autonomously performing and reporting echocardiograms; understanding of the role of an Echocardiographer in healthcare and disease.
Desirable: Experience in advanced echo techniques (TOE, Stress, etc.).
KnowledgeAbility to work autonomously, ethical practice, NHS constitution, patient-centred care.
Skills
Highly developed coordination skills, dexterity, and fine analytical technique
Good IT skills and familiarity with word processing, spreadsheets, databases
Excellent English communication skills; effective team worker; active listening
