Coatings Team Leader
Salary: -28,500 - -30,000 per annum (DOE)
We are currently recruiting for a well-established manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with production experience in a coatings environment to step into a team leader role with responsibility for day-to-day operations and team leadership.
Reporting to the Coatings Manager, you will oversee two paint line units and ensure production targets, quality standards, and health & safety requirements are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and support ongoing monitoring within the department
- Oversee routine equipment checks, maintenance, and cleanliness of paint line units
- Identify and report faults, defects, or maintenance issues to management
- Support general maintenance, repairs, and operational tasks as required
- Monitor production output to ensure quality standards and deadlines are achieved
- Operate machinery (including forklifts and production equipment) where required
Team Leadership
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of paint line operatives
- Deliver training on machinery and processes to new and existing employees
- Take ownership of new starter inductions
- Support ongoing development and upskilling of the team
- Provide cover for the Coatings Manager when required
- Escalate any team performance or personnel concerns appropriately
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience within a paint, coatings, or finishing environment is advantageous
- Proven background in a manufacturing or production setting (essential)
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to lead and motivate a team
- Good understanding of health and safety practices in a production environment
