Qualified English Tutor

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated English tutor with QTS or PGCE to provide up to 10 hours of 1:1 tuition per week to children and young people currently without school placements in Barking and Dagenham.
Learners require bespoke academic and emotional support due to time out of education and complex needs, including SEMH and challenging behaviour. You''ll play a key role in helping them re-engage with structured learning in a safe and consistent environment.
Tuition takes place in homes (with a responsible adult present), libraries, or other approved settings. Full support, resources, and progress monitoring are provided by our Learning Delivery Team.

Contract / Position Details:
- Location: Barking and Dagenham
- Position: English Qualified Tutor
- Type of work: Contract - Tuition (face-to-face)
- Start date: ASAP
- Duration: Until the end of the academic year
- Hours: Up to 10 hours per week (flexible scheduling)
- Rate of pay: -2230 per hour (dependent on experience)
Experience, Training and Qualifications
- QTS, QTLS, PGCE, or relevant teaching qualification
- Minimum 12 months'' experience UK Teaching experience
- Up-to-date Safeguarding training (issued in the last year - desirable)
To be eligible for this role through Prospero Teaching, you must:
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an Enhanced Child Barred List DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for a new one)
- Be able to provide two professional child-related references from the last two years
