Overview

This is a fixed term/secondment post for 2 years until 30/09/2027 due to the needs of the service. It offers development opportunities to progress on to the Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN) degree. The post holder will work as part of a Health Visiting skill-mix team and support the delivery of the Healthy Child Wales Programme for children aged 0-5, primarily covering Ceredigion.Hywel Dda University Health Board delivers the Welsh Government Healthy Child Programme and the Baby Friendly Initiative. The post holder will support the Baby Friendly Initiative, deliver health promotion advice, facilitate healthy baby clinics, complete delegated developmental assessments, and participate in training to support further learning. The post holder will work collaboratively with other disciplines and agencies to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals, families and communities.The post is based in Carmarthen, Wales, and will require travel between sites as part of the role.Interviews are scheduled for 16/09/2025. The Health Board is committed to bilingualism and welcomes Welsh speakers. Location: Carmarthen, Wales, United Kingdom. Salary: £21.00 per hour.The post holder will need to be committed to developing a high standard of care and actively seek and promote professional working relationships with other statutory and voluntary practitioners.Responsibilities

Deliver components of the Health Visiting Core programmes to families with pre-school children and the communities they live in, as delegated by the Health Visitor.Support the Baby Friendly Initiative, deliver health promotion advice, facilitate healthy baby clinics, complete delegated developmental assessments, and participate in training to support further learning.Work collaboratively with other disciplines and agencies to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals, families and communities.Assess health needs and develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care to meet the needs of the child and family.Contribute to the Health Visiting skill-mix team and deliver elements of the 0-5 health visiting programme in Ceredigion.Commit to high standards of care and actively promote professional working relationships with statutory and voluntary sector colleagues.Qualifications

Registered Nurse qualification (Children''s Nurse) or Adult Registered Nurse qualification.Ability to travel between sites in a timely manner (essential).Welsh language: desirable; English and/or Welsh speakers are welcome to apply. The Health Board offers learning options and staff support to help meet language requirements during employment if not fluent.Development opportunity to progress onto the SCPHN programme for suitable candidates.Additional information
