Registered Nurse - Health Visiting/School Nursing

OverviewRegistered Nurse - Health Visiting/School Nursing role at Hywel Dda University Health Board. This is a fixed term/secondment post for 2 years until 30/09/2027 due to the needs of the service. If you are an HDUHB employee applying for this post as a secondment, agreement from your current manager prior to application is required. This post supports progression onto the Specialist Community Public Health Nursing Degree. The post holder will work as part of a skill mix team with the Health Visiting Team and will support the Healthy Child Wales Programme from 0-5 years old, primarily covering Ceredigion.
Hywel Dda University Health Board delivers on the Welsh Government Healthy Child Programme and the Baby Friendly Initiative. The post holder will support the Baby Friendly Initiative, deliver health promotion advice, facilitate healthy baby clinics, complete delegated developmental assessments and participate in training to support further learning. The post holder will work collaboratively with other disciplines and agencies to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals, families and communities. This role offers development and experience within the Health Visiting skill mix team based in Ceredigion.
The post holder will need to be committed to maintaining high standards of care and actively seek and promote professional working relationships with other statutory and voluntary practitioners. A positive attitude to teamwork is essential. The post holder will be responsible for delivering components of the Health Visiting Core programmes to families with pre-school children and the communities they live in, as delegated by the Health Visitor.
To apply you will need to possess a Registered Children’s Nurse qualification or an Adult Registered Nurse qualification. The ability to travel between sites in a timely manner is an essential part of this role; please demonstrate your ability to fulfil this criterion in your application. The post holder will be responsible for the assessment of health needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care to meet the needs of the child and their family. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply. Interviews to be held on 16/09/2025.
