Care Assistant - Residential Care

To plan, implement, and supervise the provision of quality care in conjunction with People in our Care, ensuring they retain their dignity and individuality. Participate in the general activities of the Care Home/Unit.Care Responsibilities:
Maintain high standards of care by supporting and assisting People with all aspects of daily living.Support training and supervise junior and new staff members under the guidance of senior staff.Assist People with their physical, emotional, and spiritual care needs, ensuring their comfort and dignity.Provide particular assistance to People with limited mobility or learning difficulties, utilizing aids effectively.Monitor People who may be confused or have behavioral issues.Assist in promoting continence and delivering end-of-life care.Assist with last offices and maintain accurate individual Care Plans, reviewing them monthly and biannually with external bodies as needed.Document all care provided at each shift, including charts like turns and dietary intake.Engage in social activities, supporting People in hobbies and activities.Respond to Nursecall system calls, answer calls and visitors politely, and pass messages promptly.Report on People’s well-being, liaise with GPs and Support Managers, and conduct regular checks.Make visitors feel welcome, provide refreshments, and assist as needed.Make and change beds, keep rooms clean, and manage waste according to policy.Clean and maintain equipment used by People and relatives.Care for People’s clothing and rooms, ensuring proper recording and marking.Maintain privacy and dignity, especially for the dying and bereaved, following policies.Assist during meal times, considering swallowing difficulties and dietary needs, and handle serving and cleaning.Escort People for outings or hospital visits.Practice integrity in handling personal and financial affairs of People.Assist with rearranging bedrooms, ensuring safe moving and handling techniques.Dispense medication safely, recording all relevant information after completing the Safe Handling of Medicines course.Carry out holistic assessments upon admission covering nutritional, incontinence, and risk assessments.Communication and Training:
Participate in staff and client meetings as required.Liaise with multidisciplinary teams to ensure appropriate medical care.Maintain professional knowledge, attend mandatory training, and participate in vocational training to achieve qualifications.Health and Safety:
Report illnesses, accidents, or hazards immediately.Implement health and safety policies, emergency procedures, and promote safe working practices.General Responsibilities:
