A well-established and steadily growing accountancy practice based in Cleckheaton is seeking a Semi Senior Accountant to join their close-knit and professional team of 35 staff. The firm offers a friendly and supportive working environment, modern systems, and a varied client base covering a wide range of industries. With a strong local presence, the practice prides itself on offering a high-quality, personalised service across accounts, audit, tax, and payroll functions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients and supporting the wider team in the delivery of key accounting services. Candidates will be involved in preparing statutory and management accounts, VAT returns, and working with clients that report under both FRS 105 and FRS 102 standards. The role offers exposure to a mix of responsibilities across accounts production, client liaison, and involvement in audit or tax, depending on experience.

• Preparation of year-end statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
• Preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts
• Completion and submission of VAT returns
• Assisting with or leading on small audits (desirable, not essential)
• Supporting junior team members and liaising directly with clients
• Working across multiple software packages to ensure efficient workflow and compliance
• Adhering to deadlines and maintaining high professional standards

• Part-qualified AAT/ACCA/ACA or qualified by experience
• Previous experience within a UK accountancy practice (minimum 2 years preferred)
• Knowledge of FRS 102 and FRS 105 frameworks
• Proficient in accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, or similar
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills
• Confident communicator with the ability to liaise with clients and colleagues effectively
• Team-oriented with the ability to take initiative and responsibility for your workload

• Salary: -26,000 - -30,000, dependent on experience
• Working hours: 9am- 5pm with half an hour lunch break (37.5 hours a week)
