Management Accountant

We are seeking an enthusiastic, solutions-driven, proactive, and commercially savvy qualified management accountant to join our small, friendly finance team. Preparing group monthly management accounts and packs accurately and timely, following accounting principles.Supporting the Group Finance and Systems Manager in preparing financial statements and supporting audits and processes.Leading statutory balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accounts are fully reconciled, and discrepancies are resolved promptly.Assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes to meet deadlines.Working closely with auditors during statutory audits, preparing schedules, and responding to queries.Managing month-end accruals and prepayments, liaising with budget holders as needed.Maintaining the fixed asset register, ensuring accurate recording of transactions and compliance with internal controls.Conducting PandL variance analysis, reviewing departmental costs against budgets with insightful commentary.Preparing VAT, PAYE, National Statistics returns, and other statutory reports to ensure regulatory compliance.Identifying and supporting process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy.Communicating financial information clearly to stakeholders.Supporting systems implementation projects and testing.Assisting the wider finance team with ad hoc tasks.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree and full accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, etc.) with strong technical accounting experience.Experience supporting budgets and forecasts.Advanced Excel skills, including Power Query, SUMIFS, PivotTables, and VLOOKUPs.Experience with modern finance systems, ideally Dynamics Business Central or similar.The ideal candidate will have a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and a growth mindset.
