£70,000 - £80,000 per annum (Negotiable depending on experience)
Core working hours 8am-4:30pm Monday to Friday

The role
Senior accountable owner for the relationship with customers
Working with commercial and defence sector contractors
Negotiating high value commercial contracts and managing the contract upon agreement
Collaboration and liaison with other Project Managers and members of the senior leadership team.
Ability to take ownership and accountability of allocated projects to ensure delivery of the technical and financial performance whilst having the backing of a supportive team and working closely with the senior leadership.
Ensuring design, engineering and stringent quality standards are maintained.
Accountable for project wide estimating covering all aspects such as technical development, supply chain, risks, variations including additional scope etc.
Spend a portion of time on the shop floor keeping in touch with the day-to-day issues
Senior representative attending customer meetings covering all project aspects and levels of seniority within the customer organisation.
Interface conduit for production, technical and quality areas to ensure effective project management, visibility and controls.
Lead the project team and manage the supply chain to deliver projects to time, meeting cost and quality targets and company standards.
Represent the company as the project commercial first point of contact.
Delivering continuous improvement of project management processes and practices.
What we are looking for
Experience of Project Management and Contract Management within a heavy manufacturing / steel fabrication / heavy engineering / ship building environment -
ESSENTIAL
City and Guilds/NVQ in fabrication or welding or similar mechanical engineering trade -
BENEFICIAL
Prince2 Project Management qualifications -
BENEFICIAL
Have a working knowledge of the procedures and processes undertaken in shipyards and knowledge of shipyard trade skills and their scopes of work.
Proven experience of estimating projects in a heavy engineering environment -
ESSENTIAL
Commercial awareness and experience in working with Customers quantity Surveyors.
Proven experience of agreeing high value commercial contracts and contract management -
ESSENTIAL
A proven record of high value budget and Earned value management,
Excellent understanding of commercial finances -
ESSENTIAL
Experience in building and expanding a project team to meet additional demands.
Experience of defence sector single source contracting and SSRO requirements -
BENEFICIAL
Knowledge of current legislation relating to the maritime industry -
