Hours: 8:30am andndash; 3:30pm

We are looking for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Southampton. You will support a pupil with additional learning needs and challenging behaviour, helping them access learning in a structured and supportive environment. This full-time role begins in January, with potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with SEND and challenging behaviour.
Assist with adapted learning activities aligned with the pupilandrsquo;s EHCP.
Support communication, sensory needs, regulation strategies, and emotional well-being.
Work alongside teachers, therapists, and the SENCO to follow personalised support plans.
Promote engagement, independence, and consistency throughout the school day.
Support transitions, routines, and behaviour management using agreed school strategies.
What Weandrsquo;re Looking For
Experience working in an SEN school or with pupils with SEND or challenging behaviour (preferred but not essential).
Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.
Patience, resilience, and a proactive attitude.
Ability to follow safeguarding procedures and school policies.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
