The Trust is seeking a consultant psychiatrist for the South West Merton Integrated Recovery Hub. This is an established post. The vacancy has arisen because of the substantive postholder has resigned from the post.This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic, enthusiastic consultant psychiatrist to join this dynamic team.Main duties of the job
The postholder with provide medical and clinical leadership to the South West Merton Integrated Recovery Hub (IRH) within Adult Mental Health Services for Merton. The South West Merton IRH (with internal GP alignment) is one of three such teams in the London Borough of Merton, the other being North East Merton IRH. Both IRHs provide treatment and care for those with more complex and enduring needs, alongside a Merton Primary Care Liaison Service which operates as a clearly defined single point of access for all community referrals and a Merton Home Treatment Team. In addition, there are separate community teams for Early Intervention in Psychosis (Sutton and Merton EIS) and a Complex Needs Service for people with Personality Disorder (Sutton and Merton CNS). There is also a Trust run Merton Talking Therapies service comprising of IAPT and wellbeing services for patients with mild/moderate mental health difficulties.About us

Our Recovery College has been visited by overseas healthcare commissioners, who have gone on to develop similar services abroad in collaboration with our Trust. The Trust is also proud to have also developed a range of new, progressive, public facing services including Crisis Cafes and a Mental Health Support Line.Job responsibilities
The post will be managerially/operationally accountable to the Clinical Director for the Community (adult) Service Line and responsible to the Associate Clinical Director for the borough.The Consultant will have Section 12 (2) approval of the Mental Health Act and Approved Clinician status. QUALIFICATIONS
Primary Medical degreeFull GMC registration.MRCPsych, or equivalentIncluded on the GMC Specialist Register for Psychiatry or eligible for such inclusion on the Specialist Registrar within three months of completing their CCT.Section 12 (2) approval of the Mental Health ActQualification in a talking therapy such as CBT, DBT or MBT Qualifications in change management and service development skillsCCT in General Adult PsychiatryKNOWLEDGE: and EXPERIENCE:
Completed minimum of three years full time training in approved higher psychiatric training schemeA detailed knowledge of main treatment approaches for severe mental illness including psychopharmacological interventionsKnowledge and experience of the CPA process, risk assessment and risk managementExperience of teaching medical and non-medical staff, including those who may not have a formal qualificationAUDIT AND MANAGEMENT
Commitment to developing practice through clinical audit and/or researchCommitment to working with allied agencies including carer''s groups, and local charities.Experience of service planning and developmentExperience of working with third sector partnersRESEARCH AND PUBLICATIONS:
Evidence of participation in research, and outcomes of studiesHigher degree in research Completion of a research project and evidence of it''s disseminationPublication in a peer reviewed journalTEACHING
