The Institute of Masters of Wine (IMW) is a global membership organisation established in 1955 to promote the highest standards of professionalism within the wine trade and allied industries and sectors. The IMW has a growing member base and student interest in its examination. The Executive Director will lead with a track record of leadership, collaboration, and reputation management to support the IMW’s mission and global leadership in the field.Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership and management to achieve organisational objectivesLead collaboration and maintain reputation management with internal and external stakeholdersDevelop and implement strategies and management practices for international operationsEnsure effective communication and presentation of the IMW’s goals and activitiesMotivate and manage a small staff teamFoster a consultative, consensus-building approachDemonstrate initiative and drive in a global contextSupport and promote diversity, equality and inclusionQualifications
Strong interpersonal skills with high emotional intelligenceExperience engaging with diverse stakeholders across cultures and geographiesExperience of working with people from different cultures and geographiesMotivational management style suitable for an international contextExperience developing strategies and management practices to achieve organisational objectivesExcellent communication and presentation skillsSound administrative, financial management and IT skills; experience of managing a small staff teamConsultative, consensus-building approach and abilitiesSelf-starter with high initiative and driveAn interest in wine; role does not require prior wine experienceCommitment to diversity, equality and inclusionHow to Apply
