Overview

Consultant in Endocrinology and Acute Medicine (CMH/NPH). The post is offered as a 70% Endocrinology and Diabetes and 30% Acute Medicine position at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust (LNWH).Responsibilities

Undertake 4 clinics per week, with clinic commitments reduced when covering inpatient care. Follow a standardized clinic template in line with RCP guidelines.Attend MDTs in person or virtually and contribute to triaging Endocrinology/Diabetes clinic referrals on the Vantage system, and review ward referrals to the service.Provide ongoing care for general medicine patients at Northwick Park Hospital on a rota basis and contribute specialty endocrinology input to the medical admissions unit and Emergency Department.Contribute to the acute on-call rota covering emergency admissions and ambulatory care.Supervise junior doctors and other members of the multidisciplinary team and undertake undergraduate teaching.Collaborate with Diabetes and Endocrinology services across Central Middlesex and Northwick Park Hospitals, including foot services, antenatal clinics, and inline with the trust’s regional MDTs for thyroid, pituitary, and adrenal diseases.Qualifications and requirements

Post is aligned with roles at Consultant level in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Acute Medicine as described in the posting.Experience in managing a wide range of endocrine disorders (benign thyroid disease, thyroid lumps, lipid disorders, calcium disorders, adrenal and pituitary disease) and access to on-site facilities (MRI, nuclear medicine, endocrine nurse-led testing, genetic testing).Strong team collaboration across multiple sites and involvement in teaching and training of junior staff.Locations
