Role: Locum Consultant in HaematologyLocation: Glangwili General Hospital, Carmarthen, WalesShifts: 09:00am – 17:00pm, Monday to Friday; on-call 1:5Rates: £110 - £125 per hour (PAYE)Client: Hywel Dda University Health BoardBenefits: Payroll process typically on Fridays; access to Medacs Healthcare services and supportMain Duties / Responsibilities

Provide diagnosis, screening, treatment, preoperative, operative and postoperative patient care.Actively support patients and families; communicate clinical information to explain diagnoses and treatment options.Coordinate treatment plans and prescribe various types of treatment; monitor patient progress.Communicate with patients and the multidisciplinary team to support shared decision making.Work in, and where appropriate lead, a multidisciplinary team.Assess and prioritise patient requirements and delegate effectively to others.Recognise, review, and report changes in a patient’s condition to the team.Perform administrative tasks such as recording test results, writing prescriptions, and monitoring treatment plans.Contribute to research to develop and test techniques and equipment to improve procedures and outcomes.Teach and train junior doctors, medical students, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications

GMC registered Doctor with license to practice (not required to be on the Specialist Register).Relevant experience at Consultant level, or references supporting progression to Consultant level.Ideally NHS experience.Right to Work in the UK (no visa sponsorship for locum roles).Enhanced DBS check required.To apply, please ensure you can demonstrate commitment to diagnosis and management of patients, as well as education, research, and development within haematology.
