Head of Department for Financial Mis-Selling , a senior leadership role responsible for launching a new legal department.The role focuses on two specific areas of litigation:Business Energy Mis-Selling : Handling cases where energy brokers received secret commissions from suppliers, which inflated client costs.Undisclosed Mortgage Commission : Pursuing claims against brokers and lenders for hidden commissions, similar to cases involving mis-sold payment protection insurance ( PPI ).The ideal candidate will be a

qualified litigator (solicitor or legal executive)

with

at least 6 years of post-qualification experience

in civil litigation, specifically with a background in financial mis-selling or consumer credit.Responsibilities

Build and Lead the New Department : Establish and manage a new team of lawyers and paralegals.Manage Complex Litigation : Oversee all aspects of high-value cases, from developing legal strategy to leading negotiations and handling large-scale group claims.Mentor and Supervise : Guide and train junior legal staff, and shape the department\''s legal precedents and procedures.Ensure Compliance : Work with internal teams to maintain robust client onboarding and risk management protocols.Candidate Requirements

Extensive Experience : A strong background in civil litigation, specifically handling undisclosed commission cases and high-volume claims.Leadership Skills : A proven track record of managing legal teams and contributing to business growth.Strong Legal Acumen : Excellent skills in drafting legal documents, negotiating, and communicating with clients and other parties.Commercial Awareness : The ability to identify strategic opportunities and deliver strong legal outcomes.What the Role Offers
