Site Agent – Earthworks & Groundworks (Highways)

Overview
Red Sky Personnel is recruiting on behalf of a leading contractor for a major highways project in Oxfordshire. We are looking for an experienced Site Agent with a strong background in earthworks and groundworks to support delivery across key packages.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead bulk earthworks operations including cut & fill, soil stabilisation, and ground remediation

• Oversee drainage installation, service diversions, and associated groundworks

• Manage subcontractors, plant, and logistics to ensure efficient site operations

• Ensure compliance with environmental and material management regulations

• Drive programme delivery, identifying risks and maintaining progress against programme

• Review and implement RAMS and safe systems of work

• Work closely with commercial and planning teams on cost and progress tracking

• Maintain accurate site records, reporting, and documentation

Requirements

• Proven experience delivering earthworks and groundworks packages on highways or major infrastructure projects

• Strong understanding of bulk excavation, ground improvement, and drainage systems

• Experience managing high-volume material movement and logistics

• SMSTS, CSCS (Black or Gold), and First Aid

• Experience working under NEC contracts

• Strong leadership, coordination, and problem-solving ability

• Engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree preferred
