Risk and Capital Actuary

Overview
As part of the wider risk function, this role has responsibilities for the development and use of the risk model (including the capital model) within the organisation. The potential for model use is continuously explored, and the successful candidate will creatively explore this for advanced risk management purposes. The strategic insights from the risk function are highly valued across the organisation. This role is high profile with access to senior management within Chubb, both in Europe and across the wider group. It requires a highly creative, self-motivated individual who can add value to the organisation.Responsibilities
Perform technical/actuarial deep-dive reviews; draft relevant reports; ongoing reporting and monitoring.Develop and perform the company''s stress and scenario framework analysis; document the analysis and demonstrate linkage to the emerging risk process.Optimise ERM processes; enhance risk reporting toolkits; develop an integrated risk reporting dashboard covering capital, profitability, liquidity, franchise value, and responses under various macro-economic environments.Understand the technical workings of the capital model; run and extract results; ensure model output is accurate, complete and appropriate; provide quantitative and qualitative reporting.Support capital assessments for relevant legal entities.Support EMEA model validation efforts, including providing required inputs to the Global Model Validation Unit.Support Internal Model activities within Risk Management, including interrogation of the Internal Model and giving views on model outputs.Model use: respond to ERM use requests; identify, adapt and develop areas for future strategic decision making, risk monitoring, evaluation and management use.Supervise risk management activities performed by Chubb Business Services India and assist with other risk management projects as they arise.Qualifications
Newly or Nearly Qualified Actuary; CERA qualification is an advantage.English: proficient.Any other European language: desirable.Previous London Market experience: advantageous.Knowledge of capital/risk processes (Solvency II or other equivalent regimes).Reinsurance, reserving or pricing knowledge: advantageous.Understanding of both non-life and life insurance products and services.Ability to collate and review quantitative data and carry out quantitative analysis, including risk management information and capital model outputs.Strong analytical skills; advanced Excel; good working knowledge of MS Office.Ability to assess risks, issues and impacts across multiple products and locations concurrently.Self-management and development aligned with the Chubb Competence Model; CPD compliance and professionalism.Adherence to the Chubb Europe fit and proper policy; maintain professional skills with CPD.Seniority level
