Governance Risk And Assurance [Senior Risk Consultant] – Part-time job share position with 14- or 17.5-hour work week. Hybrid role based in one of the following offices: Bournemouth, Birmingham, Bristol, Guildford, London, or Manchester, with the expectation to be on-site two days per week.Role summary: You will support the Chief People and Culture (PandC) Officer and Senior Leadership Team in developing the governance and risk management function. You will oversee the identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting of operational risks, while also setting and managing the audit framework. You will ensure compliance with the Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR) by leading and monitoring supporting processes. In addition, you will coordinate key regulatory and legislative reporting to Group, strengthening governance and operational resilience across the organisation.Salary: Circa £62,500 FTE per year. Salary is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Deliver a robust risk and governance framework, promoting a strong risk culture through clear strategy, training, and engagement.Support the Chief PandC Officer and Leadership Team in managing operational risks, driving resilience, and ensuring governance remains a priority.Lead risk and control assessments, incident reporting, control testing, and compliance improvements across PandC.Oversee audit participation and ensure high-quality delivery of internal and external audit requirements.Monitor compliance with SMCR, including regulatory submissions and role responsibilities.Coordinate People Pillar reporting to Group on key regulations and legislation (e.g., CSRD, German Supply Chain Act, Operational Resilience).Build strong stakeholder relationships internally and externally, coaching and developing PandC teams to strengthen governance capability.Essential Skills
A background in People and Culture and/or Risk Management, with expertise in one or more technical areas.Strong understanding of risk management frameworks, governance requirements, reporting, analysis, and implementation of risk practices.Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use PandC data strategically to identify improvements and build risk awareness.Excellent relationship management and influencing skills, with experience engaging stakeholders at all levels and across matrixed environments.Ability to design and deliver learning pathways and provide governance and risk management support to PandC teams.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to influence at all levels.Benefits and working arrangements
