Woodfield School, part of Henry David Learning Trust, is an innovative and exciting independent special school, supporting children and young people with Autism and associated speech & language, social communication and behavioural difficulties, aged 7 to 19.
We are delighted to offer this exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join our community and take on the role of Teaching Assistant on a full time, permanent basis. Due to the nature of our provision, it would be highly advantageous if you have existing knowledge, experience and/or awareness around any of the following; SEN, SEMH, Speech and Language, Phonics, Number Bonds, Classroom Layout or Learning Through Play.
The appointed candidate will have key responsibilities that include creating a learning culture & experience for pupils who find it a challenge to engage with a full programme of onsite learning, and to work with pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis to reengage them with onsite learning. You will also work closely with the SENCo and Curriculum Deputy on targeting and agreeing a programme of support and intervention for students, off and onsite. You will be part of a team who will continue to influence and contribute to the Pastoral Team at our school.
