The Role: Tooling Design Engineer
Are you an experienced Tooling Design Engineer looking for your next challenge? This exciting role will see you working on a variety of tooling projects, providing essential technical support to the Tool Room, and managing modification quotes. As a Tooling Design Engineer, you’ll play a key part in ensuring robust, effective tool designs and driving innovation across manufacturing processes.
Based in Sawtry, this is a full-time, permanent opportunity to join a forward-thinking engineering business that values quality, technical expertise, and innovation. As a Tooling Design Engineer, you will collaborate with international toolmakers, work closely with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the development of world-class tooling solutions in a supportive and professional environment.
Main Responsibilities (Tooling Design Engineer):-
Ensure all duties are performed safely and in line with Health & Safety legislation.

Provide technical support to the Tool Room regarding tooling queries.

Develop general assemblies (GAs) from overseas sources to meet company standards.

Collaborate with international toolmakers to ensure robust tool designs.

Prepare and modify customer 3D models for tooling purposes.

Support customer meetings and conference calls to develop product and tool files.
-
Attend internal and external meetings relating to current and future work.

Participate in tool trials both domestically and overseas when required.

Advise internal and external Design Departments on optimum tooling requirements.

Perform mold flow analyses on new and existing components to improve processes.

Provide quotations for modifications based on customer files.

Manage external tooling work and ensure all relevant information is communicated.

Proven experience in tooling design and development.

Strong knowledge of CAD software and 3D modelling.

Excellent technical and problem-solving skills.

Experience liaising with international teams and suppliers.

Strong communication and organisational skills.

Understanding of mold flow analysis and tooling processes.

Permanent, full-time position.
-
Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm, with a 1-hour lunch break.
