Operational Resilience Lead

to support the maturity and enhancement of our Operational Resilience and Operational Risk frameworks. This role is integral to the ongoing development of resilience strategy across the Cantor, BGC, and GFI entities, ensuring alignment with evolving regulatory expectations and business needs.

Responsibilities

Operational Resilience

Continuously assess and develop the operational resilience framework, embedding it across the organisation.

Facilitate regular scenario testing and IBS (Important Business Services) assessments with business owners.

Ensure accurate mapping of IBSs, with up-to-date impact tolerances and supporting processes.

Monitor IBS performance and control effectiveness, tracking resilience risks and remediation activity.

Deliver insightful MI and recommendations to risk and resilience committees.

Lead resilience training and exercise programmes across business units.

Collaborate with BCP, IT, and support teams to align disaster recovery with the wider resilience objectives.

Advise on evolving industry practices and regulatory requirements via relevant governance forums.

Operational Risk

Support enhancement of the Operational Risk Framework across the group.

Facilitate Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs) and support the documentation and review of outputs.

Assist in recording and managing Operational Risk Events and maintaining the OpRED database.

Partner with the business to help quantify operational risk and monitor adherence to the operational risk policy.

Deliver risk training and awareness sessions.

Provide MI to risk committees, track remediation progress, and support KRI monitoring and escalation.

Promote a strong Conduct Risk culture, focusing on client interests and market integrity.

Embedding of Operational Risk and Resilience Frameworks across entities.

Quality and accuracy of risk data and RCSA submissions.

Qualifications

Strong background in operational risk or resilience within a financial institution.

Familiarity with capital markets and associated risk exposures.

Knowledge of operational risk areas such as IT security, BCP, and regulatory compliance.

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.

Demonstrated ability to analyse and interpret complex data sets and risk trends.

Credibility when engaging with senior business stakeholders.

Resilient, adaptable, and able to perform under pressure.

Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.

Proactive approach with a commitment to risk excellence.
