Operational Resilience and Regulatory Lead

LondonAbout you and the role:The Operational Resilience and Regulatory Lead will be tasked with leading operational resilience and regulatory projects across the Group impacting Operations. They will continue to evolve and embed the Operational Resilience Framework including delivery of the Operational Resilience Testing Programme and will support ad-hoc projects as delegated by the Global Chief Operating Officers and the Business Operations Manager.What you will be doing:Develop, review, and coordinate the implementation of the Group’s Operational Resilience Policy, Framework, and supporting documentation and processes.Lead assessments relating to the ongoing validation of identified Important Business Services, Impact Tolerances, and Mappings, ensuring that supporting management information and rationales are proportionate, maintained, and involve all key stakeholders.Develop and deliver the UK’s Operational Resilience Scenario Test Plan, ensuring the company tests severe but plausible scenarios based on the greatest risks to the company, while documenting the methodology and managing identified vulnerabilities and findings.Maintain a global awareness of Group testing (including those managed directly by Risk Management and IT) to ensure lessons learned are shared appropriately.Develop and maintain Response Playbooks, including supporting processes and mechanisms that enable prompt recovery.Oversee Operational Resilience related incidents, manage them in alignment with Group methodologies, and ensure lessons learned are captured and reported.Work with Senior Leaders and Stakeholders to foster a resilience culture, defining and advancing the Group’s resilience capabilities.Oversee Third Party Risk Management Assessments for critical third parties supporting Important Business Services operations. Collaborate with Risk Management and IT to ensure Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery processes are followed.Ensure appropriate governance structures and feedback mechanisms are established to meet Operational Resilience requirements aligned with existing Group processes.Influence and engage with change projects to ensure resilience from the design stage.Ensure processes deliver effective resilience across the organisation and align with industry best practices.Manage resilience governance meetings and attend related governance meetings to consider and action resilience-related matters.Deliver training to stakeholders to raise awareness and understanding of Operational Resilience requirements.Demonstrates extensive experience with global financial services regulations and their application to business operations. Capable of interpreting and proposing solutions to new regulatory requirements.Collaborates with Compliance to develop oversight and reporting mechanisms ensuring Business Operations adhere to existing and upcoming regulatory requirements.Assists in updating Business Operations policies and processes to maintain regulatory compliance.Leads strategic projects supporting global operations, managing multiple complex projects efficiently.What you will bring:An accomplished Operational Resilience practitioner with a proven track record in delivering resilience risk management within Financial Services.Extensive knowledge of international regulatory standards including PRA’s SS1/21, DORA.Proficient in translating complex regulatory requirements into practical business processes.Capable of working independently, requiring guidance only in the most intricate situations.Expertise in applying functional knowledge and established methodologies to complex scenarios, and guiding others in resolving complicated issues.Ability to significantly impact operational or project objectives.Exceptional communicator with robust executive and senior-level business partnering skills.Skilled in leading and influencing cross-functional collaborative working methods.Demonstrates a delivery-oriented mindset, with proven leadership in managing projects and/or a portfolio of work.Strong operational and change management ability, adept at influencing leadership while effectively handling operational tasks.Competent in managing multiple workloads, conflict resolution, and complexity under pressure, with an ability to simplify complex issues.Experienced in establishing and leading resilience frameworks within Financial Services organisations.Recognised expert within the Resilience space.Adept at presenting and communicating ideas to diverse stakeholder groups.Possesses a strong technical skillset, particularly in Microsoft Office suite.Holds a degree or equivalent work experience.Experience in cross-functional collaborative working methods.A clear communicator and collaborator, effective with colleagues, key stakeholders, and suppliers.Who we are:Enstar Group Limited (“Enstar” or “EGL”) is a leading global insurance group and the world’s largest standalone consolidator of legacy reinsurance business.Through our network of group companies, we help others – principally other insurance companies – release capital by taking over liability portfolios which no longer make strategic sense for them to hold.
