Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tax Manager to join our in-house Finance team. This role supports on a diverse range of tax initiatives impacting a rapidly changing and growing business. You will support the VP Finance in delivering tax compliance and reporting obligations while contributing to strategic initiatives and process improvements. The Tax Manager manages UK, US and international taxation, both direct and indirect, ensuring that the Group is tax compliant across the countries it operates (currently US, UK, Canada, Europe and Australia).

OxoganOx Limited has two 100% subsidiaries: OrganOx Inc (US) and OrganOx (Europe) Limited (UK).

The Tax Manager is responsible for all UK and Europe tax processes, compliance and reporting with support from external tax advisors and the US Finance team member responsible for US tax compliance. The Tax Manager will be a key member of the finance leadership team and will work closely with the VP Finance and other senior leaders to guide the tax strategy during expansion. The role includes building and developing effective tax processes and controls to underpin growth.

Major Responsibilities

Global tax planning and compliance, direct and indirect, covering:Corporation Tax Returns including provisioning for the Group''s financial statements, year-end and interim filingsIndirect taxesVAT: oversee global VAT compliance to ensure accurate and timely submissionsTransfer Pricing: assist in maintaining US, Canada and Europe transfer pricing documentation and ensure compliance with intercompany agreementsEmployment taxes: ensure compliance and timely submission; provide advice for EoR, ERS filing, P11Ds, PSA, Share options, STBVManaging all aspects of UK and US RandD tax credits and patent box relief, including documentation to support claimsSupport and advise across the organisation and Finance as the Group expands into new geographiesMaintain tax and administrative policies and review intercompany transactions for continuous improvementDesign and own key tax controls; assist with preparation for Sarbanes-Oxley and ensure complianceAct as key contact with HMRC, tax advisors, external auditors and financial advisors on tax mattersAdhere to OrganOx Code of Conduct and company policies

Requirements

Skills and Experience

Skilled tax professional with a minimum of five years'' experience and a strong finance backgroundExperience advising companies operating in multiple tax jurisdictions, in-house or in practiceStrong technical skills with excellent knowledge of UK tax accounting and compliance, and a good understanding of tax lawUK HQ Ltd company experienceFamiliarity with transfer pricing principlesStrong proficiency in ExcelAbility to multitask, meet deadlines and prioritiseExcellent communication skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholdersLogical, practical approach; organised and detail-oriented; capable of autonomous workTeam player with a can-do attitude

Desirable Skills And Experience

SAP B1Experience of external tax auditsExperience in growth companies (ideally life sciences)Exposure to US GAAP tax reportingExperience with publicly traded UK or US companies with primary stock listings on NASDAQ or NYSEInternal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley experienceExperience handling due diligence requestsAbility to lead tax planning, research, structuring and compliance for US and international tax regulationsOccasional travel

Qualifications

Qualified in a recognized accounting or tax qualification (ACA/ACCA/CTA/AIT or equivalent) with notable practical tax experience
