SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Finchley, North London (N14)
Pay: £90–£100 per day (depending on experience and/or qualifications) — paid weekly via PAYE
Start Date: September 2025
Hours: 9:00am – 3:00pm (Pupils attend from 9:30am to 2:30pm)
An established specialist provision in Finchley (N14), rated Good by Ofsted, is currently seeking an SEMH teaching assistant to join their team in September 2025. The setting supports pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs, providing a therapeutic and structured environment that nurtures both academic and personal growth.

Role Overview:
- Supporting pupils with SEMH needs on a one-to-one or small group basis
- Helping students to engage in their learning and develop positive relationships
- Working closely with teaching and therapeutic staff to create a safe, nurturing environment
- Assisting with behaviour regulation strategies and emotional well-being
Ideal Candidates Will:
- Have previous experience working with young people with SEMH or additional needs
- Be resilient, empathetic, and adaptable
- Be committed to supporting children’s emotional and academic development
- Be comfortable working in a structured, behaviour-aware setting
