Mechanical Fitter

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanical Fitter - Earthing to join our team. This role focuses on the installation, maintenance, and testing of earthing systems in line with industry standards and specific project requirements. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge of earthing systems, with additional skills in tinning and brazing considered highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
Install, connect, and test earthing systems across multiple sites and equipment types.
Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and project specifications to ensure accurate installations.
Conduct routine and emergency maintenance on earthing infrastructure.
Perform electrical continuity and resistance testing of earthing systems.
Ensure all tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of work performed, including test results and installation reports.
Collaborate effectively with electrical and civil teams to meet project deadlines.
Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental procedures and policies.
Essential Skills andamp; Experience
Proven experience in the installation and testing of earthing systems, preferably on industrial or infrastructure projects.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and site layouts.
Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations (e.g., BS 7430 or equivalent).
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality and compliance.
Able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
Desirable Skills
Experience with tinning and brazing techniques.
Familiarity with earthing/grounding system design and related calculations.
Vocational training or formal apprenticeships in electrical or mechanical fitting.
Qualifications
Trade Certificate or relevant qualification in Mechanical Fitting or Electrical Installation.
Valid [Insert Applicable Certifications or Licences - e.g., ECS, CSCS, CompEx, etc.].
Up-to-date Health andamp; Safety training (e.g., CSCS, OSHA, or equivalent depending on location).
Working Conditions
Field-based role requiring travel to different project sites.
Regular work in outdoor environments and construction settings.
Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
May involve occasional extended hours or weekend work depending on project needs.
