Senior Mental Health Support Worker - Rowan House at The Jasmine Gallery. Salary: £27,560 - £30,680 per annum (salaries vary depending on experience). Hours: 37 per week, Monday – Sunday, inclusive of bank holidays, shifts include mornings, evenings and weekends. Service: Rowan House, Littlemore.The organisation’s mission is to enable people to live more fulfilled lives by providing mental health services, housing, and supported living. This role involves empowering residents with serious mental illness and supporting independence.What You''ll Be Doing

Lead shifts, delegate tasks, and manage daily diary entries.Take the lead during incidents, safeguarding and complaints in the absence of the manager, ensuring policies and procedures are followed.Ensure all staff complete relevant health and safety tasks.Mentor new support workers through induction, including the Care Certificate and medication training. Complete the Care Certificate assessors training.Promote a One Team approach and lead by example.Respond to service phone queries from internal and external customers and delegate as appropriate.Undertake assessments of referrals and attend regular assessment and risk management training.Provide emotional support, encouragement, and practical assistance to residents with daily living activities, including medication assistance, engagement, accessing community groups, budgeting, and life skills such as cooking and using public transport.Ensure risk is continuously assessed and risk management plans are updated.Comply with safeguarding policies and procedures for Adults and Children and Young People.Represent the company professionally in terms of punctuality, appearance, professional boundaries, and equal opportunities.Essential Criteria

GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent).A commitment to continual personal development.Detailed understanding of mental health and wellbeing challenges and the level of care required.Understanding of current approaches to mental health practice.Good knowledge of referrals and assessments.Understanding of equality, diversity, and inclusion issues.IT literate with experience using MS Office.Previous related work experience.Good communication skills (written, verbal, listening).Genuine interest in mental health and well-being with a commitment to Response’s mission.What We Offer
