Location: Gateshead, North East Hours: 37.5 per week Salary: Competitive, based on experience Company Overview: A well-established groundworks contractor specialising in roads, sewers, and infrastructure for housing and commercial developments is expanding its commercial team in Gateshead. We are looking to appoint a motivated Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in groundwork projects to oversee the financial delivery of our works. Key Responsibilities: Prepare, manage, and report on budgets, forecasts, and cost plans across groundworks projects. Carry out cost value reconciliation (CVR) and maintain accurate financial records. Administer subcontracts, variations, and claims to maximise commercial returns. Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure best value procurement. Work closely with site teams and clients to ensure commercial and operational alignment. Maintain compliance with company health, safety, and environmental standards. Requirements: Minimum 1 years experience in Quantity Surveying, within groundworks or civil engineering. Sound knowledge of groundworks packages such as drainage, foundations, roads, and external works. Confident in contract administration, cost control, and negotiation. Capable of managing multiple sites and tight deadlines. Full UK driving licence. Right to work in the UK. Why Join Us?
