Production Engineer – CNC / CAD CAM

Overview
CAD CAM Engineer you will be instrumental in converting engineering drawings and CAD models into accurate and efficient CNC programs for large multi axis milling machines
Key Responsibilities
o Develop and optimise CNC programmes and cutting/ toolpaths to produce high precision tooling and components
o Ensure correct tooling, holders and machine selection prior to programming
o Collaborate with machinists to resolve machining issues and support production
o Maintain accurate programming documentation and revision control
o Support continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team
o Support the quotation process with lead-times and costs
Key Skills and Experience
o Expert knowledge of CNC multi axis milling machinery - setting/operating/programming using online & offline software
o Able to use and adapt different CAD/CAM packages - WorkNC, PowerMill and PowerShape or similar
o Expert knowledge in CNC machine tooling and fixturing
o Experience with 3D modelling is essential
o Demonstrable knowledge of ISO9001 & AS9100 standards are desirable
o High attention to detail with a methodical approach to work
o Mechanical engineering background with experience in high tolerance machining of components and tooling,  ideally for aerospace, defence, automotive or similar industry sectors
