We are currently recruiting for a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to join a well-established automotive manufacturer. This is an ongoing temporary position offering stable hours and the opportunity to work across a wide range of specialist machinery and equipment.
The Role
This is a varied, hands-on maintenance position where no two days are the same. You will play a key role in keeping production running smoothly by carrying out both reactive and planned maintenance across the site.
While this role has a strong electrical bias (ideally suited to someone who has trained as an electrician), you will also be expected to assist with mechanical repairs and general site maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities
• Electrical fault finding, repair and installation work
• Maintenance and repair of production machinery including presses, CNC machines, sewing machinery and upholstery equipment
• Mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting
• General site maintenance including plumbing and basic carpentry tasks
• Supporting planned preventative maintenance schedules
• Working closely with the site team to resolve breakdowns efficiently
• Contributing ideas for continuous improvement
• Working independently when required and taking ownership of tasks
About You
• Electrical background essential – ideally apprenticeship-trained electrician
• Experience in manufacturing or industrial maintenance preferred
• Comfortable working on a variety of machinery and mechanical systems
• Willing to turn your hand to general maintenance tasks beyond your core trade
• Proactive, practical and solution-focused
• Able to work both independently and as part of a small team
• Good communication skills and a collaborative approach
What’s on Offer
• £14.00 per hour
• Ongoing temporary contract
• Early finish every Friday
• Opportunity to work within a diverse and dynamic manufacturing environment
• Exposure to both automotive and aerospace production equipment
If you’re a hands-on maintenance professional with strong electrical skills and a flexible, team-focused approach, we’d love to hear from you.
