This role focuses on the design, maintenance, and optimisation of pumping stations, water storage facilities, and transmission systems playing a key role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and sustainability of mechanical assets across the water network.A day in the life of a Murphy Principal Mechanical Design Engineer Reviewing Scopes of Works provided by Clients (both internal and external) at Tender stage, managing and developing the returned Tender submission within the specified time constraints. This includes developing cost resource estimates, execution plans and project programmes. Developing mechanical and piping designs for pumping stations, reservoirs, and transmission pipelines. Preparing technical specifications, drawings, and documentation in line with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
