Up to £53,200 pro rata (dependent on experience)*Please note - basic grade SALT offers from £33,000+, Specialist from £39,500+ and Highly specialist from £48,000+*Hours:

We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist to join our in-house clinical team at Underley Gardens School. Working collaboratively with the education team, you will deliver bespoke speech and language therapy assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent or have SEMH needs. You will work within the standards provided in the OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working, which will guide your practice within an education setting and clarify your roles and responsibilities, while taking into account the requirements of your governing and professional bodies. You will be given responsibility for holding a Speech and Language therapy caseload, with the full support of your designated clinical supervisor and site lead, also contributing to staff training and consultation as required. With this in mind, we are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist who shares our vision to use innovative approaches to enhance the quality of life and outcomes of the pupils we support.Location : Underley Gardens School, Kirkby Lonsdale – Underley Gardens School forms part of our Options Autism brand, and is an independent specialist day school, supporting children and young people aged 5-19.Essential CriteriaUndergraduate or Postgraduate degree in Speech and Language TherapyHCPC registered1-2 yrs experience as a fully registered member of the RCSLT working in a similar settingSome relevant experience in a previously held job of engaging and working with individuals presenting with complex and diverse communication profilesSome knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma-informed practiceSome experience of multi-disciplinary working in a range of settingsSome experience of communicating with/working with families/relatives and carersAn interest in developing knowledge and skills in different areas of SLT practiceGood relationship-building, analytical and judgmental skillsGood communication skills (oral and written)Good time management and organisational skillsCompetent in core areas of SLT practice and clear understanding of RCSLT Communication StandardsKnowledge of different SLT assessment tools, types of intervention and knowledge of how to formulate support plans based on needs profileKnowledge of legislation and its implications for both clinical practice and professional management in relation to the client groupAbility to work collaboratively as part of the multi-disciplinary teamWillingness to attend training and working towards further qualifications relevant to the client groupDesirableSome understanding of sensory and motor differences and how they may impact on an individual’s communication strengths, differences, traits, difficulties and needsSome evidence of understanding the relationship between arousal levels and communicationFull driving license and access to a car (Highly Desirable)Why work for us?
