This is a fantastic opportunity to join WSP as part of an expanding team delivering a variety of prestigious projects. The role will be based in our centrally located Wellington Place office. Our office provides a quality, flexible and dynamic working space focused on the health and wellbeing of our staff and benefits from cutting-edge design, large amounts of natural light and large open spaces.

YOUR NEW ROLE, WHATS INVOLVED?

You will be joining our expanding Building Structures team, as an Engineer, with responsibility for the project management, technical leadership and delivery of schemes from inception through to handover of the completed scheme to the client.

In This Role You’ll Have The Opportunity To

Develop innovative and sustainable designs from concept, for a huge range of challenging projects, ranging from transportation hubs, and tall towers to healthcare, defence and education schemes, all with national and local architects.Take a key Technical leadership role on multi-disciplinary design projects from concept stage through to detailed design, in coordination with Architects, Engineers, and specialist consultants.Participate in tender bids and business development opportunities as they ariseAgree fees and manage the commercial position on projectsExercise independent judgement and resolve technical issues

YOUR TEAM

You’ll be joining a team of diverse and talented individuals that work together to:

Own and lead the design process, encouraging yours and wider teams to deliver the right solutions to the agreed programme, and support those less experienced by technical review, mentoring and adviceManage processes to ensure technical issues and risks are resolved in a timely and cost-effective mannerform strong working relationships with other WSP disciplines, external design consultants, stakeholders and clients.provide sustainable development solutions from site selection through to detailed design and construction.provide specialist advice and design solutions to our clients on sustainable design, net zero carbon, MMC and DfMA.

Reporting to a senior member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on some of the most exciting and high profile major multi-disciplinary development projects across the region, categorised into wide variety of sectors including Transportation, High-rise, Commercial and Mixed use, Retail, Education, and Healthcare, including recent wins in the Defence sector.

WE’D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE

Degree or HNC/HND qualification in a relevant disciplineChartered or following a path to ChartershipSolid experience in Civil and Structural detailed design;Detailed working knowledge of national codes and standardsProven understanding of the design process and ability to demonstrate working knowledge of brief/scope documents, design concepts as well as experienced in producing calculationsExperience of working with structural design software packages such as Tekla Structural Designer, Tedds and Experience in CAD software such as Revit would be beneficial.Experience of working with clients and contractors with a diverse range of objectives in achieving a technical solution
