Band 3 Generic Therapies Assistant - Medical Specialties/Oncology

A Vacancy at Barking Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust.An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and driven therapy assistant to join our Medical Specialties and Oncology Therapy team. The team provides therapy to inpatients with a variety of medical conditions. You will be working under the guidance of physiotherapists and occupational therapists, assisting patients with rehabilitation and supporting their safe discharge from the hospital. You will be required to participate in a 7-day service on a rota basis.
Responsibilities
Gather information on patient historyOrder equipment as neededFollow up with exercise plans already established by therapistsWork as an essential member of the multidisciplinary teamProvide skilled routine and non-routine clinical and technical support to the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy teams and associated clerical staffPrimary assessment of patientReferral for treatmentClinical discharge of patientSet the primary clinical treatment plan and monitor progressionOversee the clinical quality and ensure the appropriateness of treatments
Qualifications
State registered therapist (e.g., physiotherapist or occupational therapist)Healthcare experience with an interest in therapy team workWillingness to develop skills and knowledge in assessment and treatment across medical specialtiesAccess to in-service training, regular supervision and supportAbility to participate in a 7-day service rota
